It was determinate the microorganisms heterotrophs totals, mushrooms, yeasts and enterobacterias and its was evaluated the effect of physical and chemist methods to reduce the microbial load in samples of plants and in their extracts by means of the Dilutions Seriates Method. The results demonstrated that, among the two used drying forms the solar drying was more efficient because it was able diminish the concentration of some of the groups in one or up to two orders (from 107 in the fresh samples until 104-105 UFC.mL-1 in the dry). The washed and disinfection of the samples was also effective, when impeding the growth of two microbial growths and to reduce the concentration of the other ones two. In the extracts, obtained by the method of percolation of later of the solar drying, alone a low concentration of total microorganisms grew (103 UFC.mL-1). This reduction is important, and it can contribute to that these matters cousins and extracts are employed for the productions of medications of human use.}, }

The research was carried out with the 6th and 2nd grade groups of the schools: “Pepito Tey”, “Arquimides Colina Antunes”, “Julio Antonio Mella” and “Celso Stakeman” of the Santiago Popular Council. The sixth graders with a total of 146, received educational talks and later surveys were carried out regarding the topics taught Second graders, for a total of 230 children, received talks on the importance of consumption and safety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Subsequently, a drawing contest was held where they should reflect the knowledge acquired. The results indicate that in most of the homes of the former, they maintain a responsible attitude by avoiding waste, they carry out a good management of agricultural and processed products, they use adequate storage conditions and responsible temperature management. The second graders presented a high understanding of the conversations, reflected through the drawings presented. In Cuba, it was consolidated since 1994 as an intensive production system (Urban, Suburban, and Family Agriculture System) across the country, which mission was to contribute to the local self-supply of agricultural products, with the participation of three principal actors: producers, decision makers and consumers. This work aimed to analyze the functionality of the system, from the producer’s perception. In order to achieve this, a poll was applied to 519 producers from six municipalities, in three selected provinces. The producers’s evaluation about the system showed remarkable differences between the studied variables at the country level, and between the included territories. It was evident that in the system there is a marked interest in the application of agroecological practices that can improve the biodiversity and the use of ecosystemic services, and, if necessary, organic sources like compost and worm humus for nutrition of the plants are used, such as biopesticides and other non-aggressive alternatives for pest management.}, }

The objective of the work was to analyze the use of meteorological data to contribute to agricultural sustainability from a bioclimatic perspective. The results of more than 100 publications of specialized journals, books, repository of master's and doctoral theses, internet documents, reports, scientific events, among others, about the importance of meteorological and climatic information for the planning of the agricultural production systems, were analyzed. There were found evidences of the need to expand the use of agrometeorological forecasts to obtain good harvests, and to keep high-productivity animal husbandry. To know the potential of each region related to climate change was analyzed, also the geospatial distribution of natural resources in a territory was considered. It is concluded that meteorology is a key factor for agricultural zoning. It was developing at Institute for Fundamental Research in Tropical Agriculture ''Alejandro de Humboldt'' (INIFAT). The planting of the crop was carried out on a substrate composed of earthworm humus and Red Ferralitic soil (proportion 1/1) and the latter as a control, under organoponic conditions. A randomized block design with three replications and two planting frames was used, under the effect of shade and sun. The physical properties were: apparent and real density, natural and hygroscopic moisture and total porosity and the biological ones: the abundance of the macrofaune and the ratio of detritivores/non-detritivores; physiological indicators of yield: length, number of branches and leaves, yield in kg.m-2. The real density showed values between 2.46-2.48 mg.m-3, which are considered adequate. The substrates reflected good natural moisture, characteristic of good contents of organic matter. The same thing happened with hygroscopic moisture. The porosity percentage indicated good aeration and drainage conditions (72.98 - 76.71%). The substrate complied with water and air supply, high water holding capacity, coupled with fast drainage and good aeration, which gave the substrate a better structure. A good abundance of macrofaune and fertility were observed according to the detritivore/non-detritivore ratio; which guaranteed the success of the system.
